Off the Beaten Path: GMC Reveals First Ever Off-Road 2019 GMC Sierra AT4


GMC recently revealed the first-ever 2019 GMC Sierra AT4!

While it is an off-road capable vehicle, the AT4 still has the refinement and technologies GMC is known for, making it ideal for both the open road and an off-road adventure.

“The AT4 brings new levels of refinement and innovative technology — a formula that no one else in the industry currently delivers,” said Alan Batey, EVP and President of GM North America, in the vehicle’s reveal video.

The exterior of the vehicle is based on the next generation 2019 GMC Sierra, with tweaks including body color front and rear bumpers and grille surround, black chrome throughout, high gloss black finish on the window trim and mirror caps, and a few touches of red to complete the look.

gmc-life-sierra1500-AT4-Reveal-2-19PGSR00250The vehicle comes with 18-inch wheels, with available mud terrain-rated Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires. There are also optional AT4-specific 20-inch machined-face wheels with all-terrain tires.

The AT4’s suspension rides 2 inches higher than the 2019 Sierra, giving it better ground clearance for off-road driving. Four-wheel drive is standard, as is a 5.3-liter V-8 engine and eight-speed automatic transmission.

Inside, the vehicle is ready for any activity, while also providing a comfortable ride. Rubber floor liners are standard, and a large 24-liter storage tray can be found beneath the second-row seats. Rear seat backs can open to reveal two 10-liter storage spaces as well.

  • Traction Select System: Allows the driver to choose from pre-set drive modes that have been tailored for a variety of terrain or weather conditions.
  • Segment-first Multi-Color Head-Up Display: Projects customizeable vehicle data on the windshield in a 3×7-inch display.
  • Surround Vision: This available feature provides the driver with a bird’s-eye view through an overhead image on the infotainment screen. This is useful when maneuvering in tight quarters like a parking garage or challenging trail.

The vehicle has best-in-class cargo volume — 62.9 cubic feet on the short box model and 89.1 cubic feet on standard box models. The box also provides a 110-volt outlet.

The Sierra AT4 also incorporates the industry-first GMC MultiPro Tailgate, which has six unique functions and positions.

The vehicle will be available at dealerships this fall.

Next-Generation GMC Sierra Revealed!

2019 GMC Sierra Denali

The all-new 2019 GMC Sierra was revealed on Facebook Live this week! It is re-designed inside and out and has plenty of new features, including:

  • The GMC-exclusive, industry-first MultiPro Tailgate: It has six unique functionsTailgate offering enhanced second-tier loading and load-stop solutions, a standing workstation, and easier access to items in the box. Standard on SLT and Denali, the MultiPro Tailgate also incorporates a step entry and egress mode that, when paired with the assist handle, can be used as both a step and a seat. Two buttons on the tailgate handle allow for convenient inner gate release.
  • GMC-exclusive, industry-first Carbon Fiber Pickup Box, called the CarbonPro, increases durability, efficiency, and functionality while offering best-in-class dent, scratch, and corrosion resistance, making it the most durable pickup box in the segment.

  • Segment-first Multi-Color Head-Up Display, which projects key, customizable vehicle data on the windshield in a 3×7-inch display to help drivers keep their eyes on the road.
  • Segment-first Rear Camera Mirror offers an optimized view via an available dual-function interior mirror that expands vision to overcome common visual obstructions like occupants or cargo. It features a a higher resolution camera and display and the ability to tilt or zoom the view.
  • Surround Vision: This available feature offers a birds-eye view of the truck. It displays an overhead image on the infotainment screen, helping the driver detect potential obstacles when backing up.

The vehicle has a larger, more dominant upright grille, a taller hood, and a bolder take on GMC’s signature C-shaped lighting. Denali has available 22-inch Ultra Bright aluminum wheels and the SLT model offers 22-inch dark aluminum wheels finished with chrome accents.

The cargo boxes offer best-in-class cargo volume – 63 cubic feet on the short box, plus additional tie-downs and a new, available 110-volt power outlet.

Under the hood, new versions of the 6.2L and 5.3L V8 engines will be joined by an all-new 3.0L inline-six turbo-diesel engine. The 5.3L and 6.2L engines feature stop/start technology and new Dynamic Fuel Management that enables the engine to operate on one to eight cylinders, depending on demand, to optimize power and efficiency.

The 2019 GMC Sierra goes on sale at Runde Auto Group this fall.


2018 GMC Terrain Has Arrived at Runde Chevrolet Buick GMC


The all-new 2018 GMC Terrain landed at Runde Chevrolet Buick GMC in Platteville!

This is the first complete re-design of the vehicle since it was first introduced seven yearsheadlights ago. The most noticeable change is the new headlights and taillights.

“It is a striking design with functional beauty,” said Helen Emsley, executive director of Global GMC Design, in a press release. “There’s confidence and optimism in its stance, with exceptional attention to detail that speaks to GMC’s rise as a premium brand.”

2018-GMC-Terrain-Denali-front-three-quarterThe Denali features a satin chrome grille, body color fasicas and lower trim, chrome roof rails, door handles, side mirror caps, and body-side molding. Denali also comes standard with 19-inch ultra-bright aluminum wheels.

Under the hood, there are three turbocharged engines to choose from: the all-new 1.6L turbo-diesel, 1.5L turbocharged gas, and a 2.0L turbocharged gas engine, along with two unique new nine-speed automatic transmissions.

The 2018 Terrain comes standard with a driver-controllable Traction Select system for 2018-GMC-Terrain-Denali-center-consoledifferent driving conditions. AWD models include a FWD mode that disconnects the AWD system to minimize drag and optimize fuel economy, while the AWD mode offers all the benefits of an active AWD system.

The interior includes an expanded center console with pass-through storage underneath and side-by-side cupholders. The new fold-flat passenger seat and flat folding rear-seats make loading cargo a breeze. There are also new under-floor compartments in the cargo area for more secure storage.

The Terrains are compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and every new Terrain comes standard with five years of the OnStar Basic Plan at no additional cost.

Radar- and camera-based technologies provide alerts to potential crash threats. They include:
