When is the last time you put “sporty” and “Buick” in the same sentence? That’s about to change!

The 2018 Buick Regal GS made its world debut in July as a more powerful, sportier cq5dam.web.1280.1280 (1)version of the 2018 Buick Regal Sportback.

“This is a sport sedan designed for everyday driving, but one that makes every drive special,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick and GMC, in a press release.

It offers 310 horsepower, a V6 engine, and nine-speed transmission AWD with active cq5dam.web.1280.1280 (3)twin clutch. Its performance seats are heated, ventilated and — get this — massaging.

Nineteen-inch wheels are standard, as are a sport-tuned exhaust system and flat-bottom steering wheel and metal pedals. The vehicle has unique sport front and rear fascias, side skirts and a rear spoiler.

“With the all-new 2018 Regal GS, we set to make  a driver-focused, engaging and entertaining sport sedan without sacrificing the smooth ride and refined character expected of any modern Buick,” Aldred said.

The 2018 Regal GS offers a standard 8-inch diagonal touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and cq5dam.web.1280.1280Android Auto. With an optional Driver Confidence II package, it includes safety features like Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Automatic Braking.

Every Regal comes with a 3 month/3 gigabyte trial of OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, as well as 5 years of the OnStar Basic Plan at no additional cost.

With an MSRP of $39,990, the 2018 Buick Regal GS will go on sale in early 2018.

Dave Walser2.JPG

There is a new smiling face at Runde Ford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Manchester!

Dave Walser, of Graf, IA, has joined the sales team and can help you with any of your vehicle needs!

A native of Dubuque County, Dave has been in the automotive business for about a year. He enjoys pairing customers with vehicles that fit their needs.

“I really get a charge from the smile a customer has when they are driving away from the lot after the sale,” Dave said. “I strive to keep that customer’s smile on their face throughout the ownership of the vehicle.”

Dave graduated from Iowa State, so he is a big fan of the Cyclones, as well as the St. Louis Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings. He and his wife, Theresa, have been married for 33 years. They have three children, Anna, Samantha, and Jacob.

One of Dave’s favorite vehicles is the Dodge Grand Caravan.

“My wife and I have owned four different Grand Caravans,” Dave said. “We have used them in all kinds of applications, like using it as an enclosed pickup to haul ‘stuff,’ family events and outings, sporting events, and errands.”

Here are some fun facts about Dave:

  • He went to grade school (up to 4th grade) in a one-room school house.
  • He was part of the first graduating class to go all the way through Stephen Hempstead High School in Dubuque.
  • He was formerly a Dubuque County Fair Director for 9 years.

Dave looks forward to providing great customer service at Runde Auto Group.

“If you do that extra step, that added value for the customer adds to the dealership and gains the customer’s loyalty,” he said.

His advice for vehicle shoppers is simple: ask questions — he is more than willing to answer them!

“Do not be afraid to ask any question or have the answer repeated if you do not understand,” Dave said. ” The message must be clear and there are no bad questions.”

Tony Lucey - Full Shot.jpg

Runde Chevrolet Buick GMC in Platteville is proud to welcome its newest salesperson, Tony Lucey!

Tony, who is from Cuba City, WI, worked in the radiology department of a hospital for the past 13 years. He is excited to try something new.

“I have always been interested in car sales,” he said. “Many years ago when I began buying cars for my children and of course trucks for myself, I thought it would be a neat job as I love to meet and help people. I love the excitement that customers get when buying a new vehicle. Helping people to achieve something that makes them happy is a great feeling.”

He got a fast start, selling two cars in his first week!

“The first few weeks of being a salesperson have been awesome,” Tony said. “There is obviously a lot to learn, but I love the challenge. It is different from my last job because you are helping people to realize a dream.”

His favorite vehicle is the GMC Sierra 1500 because of its dependability and style.

In his spare time, Tony likes to fish, bow hunt, golf, and spend time with his family. He has three sons: one who lives at home, one who lives in Dubuque, and one who lives with his wife in Benton, WI.

Here’s a fun random fact about Tony:  His second cousin, Patrick J. Lucey, was the governor of Wisconsin from 1970-1977 and he ran as the Vice Presidential candidate with John Anderson during the 1980 election!

Tony is looking forward to his new career at Runde Auto Group and making the buying experience a pleasant one for all his customers.

“I think great customer service is the art of working with people and doing everything you can to help them, making the whole experience easy and enjoyable,” Tony said. “People remember great service and will always return, along with recommending that service to their friends and family.”
