All-New 2019 Chevy Silverado Has Arrived at Runde’s

The all-new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is HERE!

One hundred years after the first Silverado was delivered in 1918, the next-generation Silverado was created with feedback from more than 7,000 customers on what they wanted in their next truck.

“With the all-new Silverado, we’ve taken the best truck on the road and made it even better,” said Mark Reuss, General Motors executive vice president of Global Product Development, Purchasing and Supply Chain in a press release. “It has a longer wheelbase, more passenger and cargo volume, and yet, thanks to our mixed materials strategy and mass reduction expertise, the new truck is 450 pounds lighter than the current model.”

The Silverado’s grille and headlights are completely refreshed, and Chevrolet is stamped Backacross the truck’s rear bumper. The Z71 Crew Cab model features twin chrome tailpipes.

The truck’s bed offers best-in-class cargo volume in every bed length and features a high-strength steel floor, more and stronger tie-downs, plus an available power tailgate operated with the key fob, interior button, or by hand.  The bed also has available task lighting, a 120-volt power outlet, and larger cutouts in the CornerStep bumper to accommodate steel-toed boots.

“Truck customers value capability and functionality above all else,” said Tim Herrick, executive chief engineer of Full-Size Trucks, in a press release. “Every truck — including the luxurious High Country — is a work truck with a job to do. As such, we set out to create the best tool for the job at hand, one that makes work more productive and more enjoyable, no matter what they call ‘work.’’’

SIDEThe 2019 Chevy Silverado is larger, with a wheelbase that is 3.9 inches longer and an overall length that is 1.6 inches longer. There are three inches of additional rear-seat legroom — totaling 44.5 inches of front legroom and 43.8 inches of rear legroom.

The second-row seatbacks have available 10-liter bins for storage, and there is a large 24-liter storage tray under the second-row seat.

To continue Chevrolet’s reputation as the most dependable, longest lasting full-size truck on the road, the GM engineering team performed seven million miles of testing on the vehicle, making it the most-tested vehicle GM has ever produced.

“Truck customers told us they depend on their trucks for much more than just transportation,” said Herrick. “Many use their trucks to earn a paycheck, or to do what they enjoy most when they’re off the clock. Given how important trucks are to our customers, we set a lofty goal for exceeding the dependability and longevity of the current Silverado.”

There are eight 2019 Silverado models. One of them, the new Silverado LT Trailboss, integrates the off-road equipment of the Z71 package as well as a two-inch suspension lift.

“Truck customers told us they want the perfect truck for them and not a ‘one size fits frontmost’ truck, compromised for the masses,” said Mike Simcoe, vice president, Global Design, General Motors, in a press release. “That insight shaped our design strategy with eight distinct models, each with a unique personality to fit different customers, from the affordable Work Truck to the luxurious High Country.”

The eight models use a varying amount of chrome, which is a major differentiator for many truck-buyers.

“Chrome has become more polarizing, and more personal, than any other aspect of truck design,” said Rich Scheer, director, Exterior Design, Chevrolet Trucks, in a press release. “Some customers want no chrome at all and only body-color or blacked-out trim. Others feel a truck isn’t a truck without a chrome bumper, but feel extra chrome can be too ‘flashy.’ Others want as much chrome as they can get.”

There are also six engine/transmission choices, including an all-new Duramax 3.0L inline-six diesel.

2015 Chevy Colorado is Up For Anything!

Colorado City

It has finally arrived: the all-new 2015 Chevrolet Colorado!

What Chevy has called the “truck for all occasions,” this mid-size pickup has it all: great fuel economy as well as best-in-class towing and payload.

The 3.6L V6 engine offers 26 MPG highway and is rated to tow up to 7,000 pounds!

“Our strategy is simple: meet the needs of the broadest possible customer base, and let them choose precisely the right truck to meet their needs,” said Mark Reuss, General Motors executive vice president and president of GM North America, when the truck was unveiled in 2013. “The all-new Colorado benefits from the solid foundation established by the Silverado, and it reinvents the midsize truck while reinvigorating the segment at the same time.”

Colorado Interior

The Chevrolet MyLink 8-inch diagonal color touch-screen allows you to organize your icons so the ones you use most often are front and center.

Owners of the 2015 Colorado enjoy amenities of a truck with the comfort of a sedan. Thanks to inlaid, triple-sealed doors, thick windshield and side glass, and liquid-applied sound deadener, wind and road noise is kept out of the cabin, making your drive as quiet as possible.

It rides just as smooth on a city street as it does hauling a boat or off-roading!

Feel free to stretch out your legs too, because even though the Colorado is nearly six inches narrower than a Silverado 1500, it has a roomy interior.

Another creature comfort in the Colorado is the Chevrolet MyLink 8-inch diagonal color touch-screen. It allows you to organize your icons so the ones you use most often can be front and center. The center console also includes a USB port to charge your phone or other devices.

The truck also offers 4G LTE high-speed Wi-Fi powered by OnStar to connect up to seven devices online!

Gear On Organizer

The GearOn storage system features a two-tier loading and bed divider that secures and organizes your cargo.

There are plenty of accessories to personalize your Colorado, but one to note is the GearOn storage system. It features a two-tier loading and bed divider that secures and organizes your cargo. It also includes a bike carrier and utility rack.

In terms of safety, the Chevrolet Colorado comes equipped with OnStar for the first six months, which includes Automatic Crash Response. In the event of a collision, the vehicle automatically shuts off the fuel pump, unlocks the doors and turns on interior and hazard lights to increase safety and visibility.

The 2015 Colorado comes equipped with a rear vision camera to help prevent accidents while in reverse.

Overall, the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado is like a mini-version of the Silverado.

“The new Colorado’s design brings a youthful breath of fresh air to the midsize truck segment and puts a progressive spin on Chevrolet’s true-truck styling,” said Ken Parkinson, executive director of Chevrolet Design. “It’s like the younger, more eager brother of the Silverado – a Chevy truck through and through, with great zeal and a spirit of adventure.”
