We are excited to announce that Kelley Blue Book has named the 2018 Chevrolet Impala, the 2018 Ford F-150 and the 2018 Ford Expedition as Best Buys for 2018!

The Best Buy awards choose the best value vehicles in 12 categories, as well as an overall winner. They compare features like pricing, cost to own, use-ability, consumer reviews, and more.

This is the fourth year in a row that the Chevrolet Impala was named the best full-size sedan by Kelley Blue Book! You can get yours at Runde Chevrolet in East Dubuque, IL or Runde Chevrolet Buick GMC in Platteville, WI!

“Whether it’s a matter of price, size, style or features, the 2018 Impala will give you 2018_chevrolet_impala_sedan_premier_fq_oem_4_1280.jpgsomething to appreciate every day you own it,” Kelley Blue Book noted in its announcement. “And speaking of owning it, in addition to collecting KBB’s Best Buy Award for full-size cars, last year’s Impala took home our 5-Year Cost-to-Own Award in the full-size-car category for its sixth straight season.”

This is also the fourth year in a row that the Ford F-150 has won the best truck category! Take one for a test drive at Runde Ford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Manchester, IA.

2018-ford-f-150-thumbnail-4cms“Expected niceties like leather seats are available, of course, but so are unique features like Ford’s Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which lets you more intuitively align your trailer using a simple knob on the dash,” according to Kelley Blue Book. “There are power-operated running boards available, a remote-release tailgate, and even a tailgate with an integrated, slide-out step. Then there’s adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, accident detection and avoidance, lane keeping assist, and all the safety and convenience features you’d expect in a nicely equipped luxury sedan. Along with its excellent reliability and resale value, there’s no question that the 2018 Ford F-150 earns its Best Buy honor.”

The re-designed 2018 Ford Expedition won the full-size SUV/Crossover category.

“With its elevated seating position helping deliver excellent visibility, the Expedition 2018-Ford-Expedition-front-three-quarter-in-motion-02-e1486485894126-1.jpgdrives like a smaller vehicle than its large footprint would lead you to believe,” Kelley Blue Book said. “Thanks to its independent rear suspension, it also has a decidedly non-truck feel to its ride. A host of driver assists, including blind spot warning and lane keeping assist, make it easy to keep the Expedition on track.”

Kelley Blue Book is a longtime trusted resource for helping consumers research, price and shop for vehicles.

To make Jenni McCann’s day, just give her some warm weather, a good book to read, and a black on black Impala SS with a rockin’ 5.3 liter V-8 Engine and a whoppin’ 303 horses under the hood just waitin’ to be turned loose.

Jenni

We had the pleasure of talking with Jenni McCann today.  She was in to pick up the car that she just purchased from Runde Auto Group.  We are very appreciative of Jenni’s repeat business and she had some kind words, in turn, to say about Runde’s.  The following is the long and short of our conversation:

How did you find Runde Auto Group?  Have you purchased here before?
Yeah, I bought two Cavaliers here before, actually. I bought my 2nd Cavalier here 6 years ago.

Jenni's Impala SS

What did you buy this time?
An Impala SS.  I moved up and I love it.

Where is the first place you’ll take your new Impala?
Probably to show it to my mom over in Dubuque.

Who was your salesperson and how would you rate them?
Al Kloft.  Al was excellent – he really was.  Him and Anderson and what is “California’s” real name?

Steve. Yep Steve. They were all very good.  I’ve never been treated better than I have at Runde’s.  Seriously, everybody that I’ve dealt with in service and everything — you guys are excellent.

Jenni with Al Kloft

It’s funny when you think about it, because with Anderson and California you have two of the most laid back people I know and then with Al you have the opposite side of the spectrum. (Jenni just laughs and nods in agreement).

What’s the best thing about the new ride?
The power.  I think this car is going to get me into trouble.

You got the right color though – at least it’s not red.  You know what they say about cops and red cars.
I’m still afraid it’s going to get me into trouble for speeding.

How many people are in your family?
Just my son and me.

Have you always lived around the area?
Yes, born and raised in Dubuque.

Are you bummed that the summer weather is coming to and end?
Oh yeah.  I’ll definitely miss the warm weather.

What would you say it the most beautiful or scenic place in the Tri-states?
Eagle Point Park (in Dubuque).  I have a park sticker (season pass), I’d say I drive through there about every two weeks.  My son will be sixteen in about a week and he’s just learning how to drive so we practice driving up there.

Is he going to get to drive the new SS?
Yeah … (big sigh with some hesitation) yeah.

Will anyone be allowed to eat in your new vehicle?
(Without hesitation) No.

How would you rate your car buying experience with Runde Auto Group on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best?
10  …  Excellent.

What is your favorite movie of all time?
Probably Nightmare on Elm Street.  I like Freddy Krueger.

Did you know the original one had Johnny Depp in it?
Yep, that was when he was younger.  I have all of them.

All of the sequels too?
Yep.  I have the entire box set.

What is currently in the cd player of your vehicle?
Oh, I forgot to check to see if I left one in the Cavalier.  If there is one still in there it’s probably Buck Cherry or Kid Rock.

If you could move anywhere else in the world, where would it be and why?
Any place where it’s warm year round.

Any place in particular?
Nope, just anyplace that it’s warm.

Describe your ideal day – what would you do – where would the road take you?
Just someplace where I could relax and read a book.

Like a cozy chair in the library?
Yep.  That would work.

Disco, Rock, or Country?
Rock.

Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, or Robert Redford?
Brad Pitt

Olive Garden, Red Lobster, or a fancy Galena restaurant?
Red Lobster

Online shopping or the mall?
The mall.

Win the lottery or become President?
Win the lottery.

If you could only eat one food everyday for the rest of your life – what would it be?
Pizza.

What kind of pizza.
Probably pepperoni.

Pepperoni pizza from where?
Happy Joes.

We’d like to thank Jenni for buying her car from Runde’s  She has been a good customer of ours and we hope that she’ll be back in a few years to buy another car from us.  Will she go for a Camaro next time?  I guess you’ll have to stay tuned in …

Raymond Wahl – Retired and Havin’ a Blast

IMG_1822Raymond Wahl stopped in today to get a new vehicle. Raymond, who is a retired Catholic Priest from Rockford, allowed me to give him a short verbal survey about his purchase experience, about his life in general, and about the history of the Wahl family.

What brought you into Runde’s today?
I decided to get a new car. I’ve been reading about unemployment so I thought I’d do my part to keep the economy up.

What did you end up buying today?
It’s a new Chevrolet Impala. I traded in my old Impala towards it.

Any plans for it?
Mainly to travel to and from where I live in Rockford.

What made you come to Runde’s?
I’ve been coming here for years now… I’ve worked with my salesman on several other deals in the past.

What did you think of your experience at Runde’s?
I used to buy from a dealership around Rockford who would help me as soon as I needed something done. After management there changed, they stopped taking me in and started making me fill out forms and asked all kinds of questions I never got asked before. So I said “forget it” and went to Runde’s where they get what I need done, done.

So you’d recommend Runde’s to your friends?
Absolutely.

If you were to rate Runde’s on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest, what would you give it?
A Ten.

56756So what do you like to do?
As a retired Catholic Priest I go out to the retreat house out near Rockford to hear confessions and various other tasks.

I also like to come down to Dubuque to get free money because we don’t have that in Rockford.
Free money? …please do inform me sir…

You know, down at the boat, the casino.
Oh, you mean gambling?
I don’t like to call it gambling, It’s winning money. I keep my winnings and bring some people from my Parish down here to have a nice day off.

So you come down to Dubuque often?
Yea, actually years ago I bought a house three miles west of Galena where I stay from time to time. I also live in a retirement home in Rockford.

Generally, how would you say your experience at Runde’s was?
Very nice people, very friendly, very helpful and very cooperative. Very good.
Well thank you, VERY much!

Do you have a favorite movie?
I’d probably say Grand Torino.

Fan of Clint Eastwood?
Yea, I like Western movies, anything he’s in it’s good. Grand Torino I’d say is my favorite, though.

Do you have a favorite restaurant?
In Rockford I like the Country Buffet.

That’s all the questions I had for you Raymond, anything you’d like to add?
Yea. I’d just like to ask you – how do you keep your beard trimmed?

Uh… actually my dog just ate my shaver the other day…
Well then, you should get a Wahl…  My Father was the inventor of the first electric hair clipper with an alternating current. He followed the footsteps of the generations before him in the Wahl company.

Oh neat! I’ll definitely get one and stay with Wahl as long as you stay with Runde’s.
It’s a deal, sounds good.
