2014 Silverado is the Bee’s Knees (with proof from Consumer Reports!)

Nothing is more American than hard work and sweat and trucks that aid in that work load and help cool off that sweat. Trucks and America is like Miley Cyrus and Crazy – a completely natural fit. But who’s got the best truck of them all? Well, Chevy, of course! Need proof? Fine, here: Consumer Reports has named the 2014 Chevy Silverado the best Pickup!

According to the report, The Silverado has a larger cargo bed, payload capacity and more towing capacity as well as an easier to use tailgate, a much more convenient step-in height and at 16 miles per gallon overall, better gas mileage than its competitors.

Here’s a recap of some of the great features to be found in the best pickup of the year:

  • Leather interior that is more durable, easy to clean, and higher comfort
  • Heated & cooled seats
  • New 8-inch display screen
  • Voice recognition to place calls, enter destinations, browse media, play music, and other functions
  • Front and rear park assist
  • Multiple USB ports, along with 12-volt and 110-volt power outlets
  • Bose audio system
  • More space in back seat
  • Automatic-opening back window

There are three different engines that will be used to power the Silverado. The 5.3L V8 is the most common receiving 355-horsepower!

  1. 4.3L, V6, Ecotec3: More powerful with better fuel efficiency
  2. 5.3L, V8, Ecotec3: Just like 4.3L, this engine is more powerful and has better fuel efficiency than previous version
  3. 6.2L, V8, Ecotec3: One of the most powerful light-duty pickup engines
