21 years. My family was in the automotive business. I started by doing detail and body shop then moved on to sales full time in ’96 and started in finance in ‘98. Now I’m doing more of the finance and sales together.

Are you originally from the Platteville area?
I’m from Lancaster, WI – Born and raised.

What do you enjoy most about working in the automotive industry?
I enjoy all the new people I get to meet.

All the changes that come around, it’s always changing and always exciting to be in.

What are your pastimes and hobbies?
I do a lot of hunting and fishing.

Do you do any professional fishing?
Well I should be a professional fisher *laughs* but I’m not.

Where do you go to fish?
I usually go to Bagley or Cassville, etc. We used to go up to Canada all the time. We go up to the north woods of Wisconsin about 3 or 4 times a year.  I have a cousin that lives up there so we go fish and duck hunt . I also have an uncle that lives up north, so we go up there quite often.

Do you catch and release or keep your catches?
Lots of pan-fish I like to keep but mostly do catch and release. I love fishing for Walleye.

Do you have any kids?
I have 3 kids – Beau is 20 and works here. Dreona is 17 and is a Junior in high school and my youngest, Mia, is 7 and a first grader.

Do you have any pets?
Yep, I have a Rat-Terrier dog and I just got a Chocolate Lab pup back in December. He’s almost four months old.

Have you experienced the effect that the terrible wrath of a puppy can have on your valuables?
YES! He broke my crock-pot the other day! At least our dogs get along together.

Do you have a favorite spot in the Tri-State area?
Just some local taverns.

If you could pick any vehicle, which vehicle would you own and why?
Probably just a half-ton crew cab because I don’t need anything more or less than that.

Favorite sports team?
Packers & Brewers.

Favorite dessert?
I don’t eat desserts. I’m more of a meat and potatoes kind of guy.

Do you have a favorite dish?
Not really, I’ll eat anything that’s thrown in front of me, pretty much.

Do you cook at all?
Oh yeah, I like to make easy things. Usually steaks and stuff like that.

Pretty much anything with Clint Eastwood in it. He’s probably my favorite actor.
I also like the comedy The Great Outdoors.

Favorite musician?
Probably Toby Keith.

What’s your most memorable experience in a car or truck?
The first time I let my son drive – I took him through a field. He did just fine until he spilt my drink!

Glass is always half-full.

Where’s the first place you’ll travel to when you win the lottery?
Probably Alaska. I’d go Moose and Duck hunting.

What would you like to tell the potential customers thinking whether or not they should try out Runde’s?
I’m a man of few words, but I love my job here. The people here are really good and they treat their customers and vehicles with the best respect.

Thanks Chris! Welcome to the Runde’s Family!
