Runde Auto Group…Helping Make Election Day a Success!

The election polls were open Tuesday all over Dubuque. Runde Auto Group wanted to make sure poll-workers and voters had something to keep them cool on the abnormally warm day in November. Jeff “Lenny” Keuter and Lisa Rigdon of Runde Chevrolet drove the Community Service Truck, dropping water off to 21 of the Dubuque and East Dubuque polling locations. They estimated about 87 cases of water were provided to the Dubuque and East Dubuque voters and workers.

Wednesday we received a call from Jill Rokusek, also known as the “Hat Lady of Dubuque”. This is the 20th election she has worked. I think someone should be thanking her for all of the valuable time she has volunteered!  She worked at the YMCA polling station from 6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. She wanted to thank Runde’s for thinking of all of them on such a hectic day. She was ecstatic about the water, and said she couldn’t tell us how many people made comments about how nice it was to be able to have a drink while they waited. She also said many of them mentioned they had bought a car from us, or said to tell one of our employees hello. Jill estimated about 1,000 voters at her location, not counting the early voters. She was pretty sure they went through about 8 cases there.

Runde Auto Group was happy to help out on what turned out to be a very historic day. Thanks to everyone who volunteered to keep the polls running smoothly.
