Ford Introduces Another Option For the Mustang

The Ford Mustang has been the best-selling sports car for 22 years in a row. With the 45th anniversary quickly approaching, Ford is introducing a glass roof version of the already popular V6 and GT models. J.D. Power and Associates research shows that 62% of sports car buyers would like a sunroof or moonroof on their next vehicle.

The new glass roof on the Mustang is the first of it’s type in the sports car segment. The roof is made of a special tinted, energy efficient glass that reduces the amount of energy used by air conditioners by about 20% and protects the interior of the car from the sun’s harmful rays. The glass also has a sound reducing vinyl inside the glass, as well as a manual shade that will block out light.

The Mustang V6 coupe and convertible models have a 210-horsepower 4.0-liter 6-cylinder engine, with a standard 5-speed manual transmission, or offers the option of a 5-speed automatic. The GT adds about 90 horsepower and has a 4.6-liter V8, with standard manual or optional automatic transmissions.
