Today I had the privilege of getting to know the Hernandez Family as Mike and Traci sat down for an interview. From Dyersville, this family had enough character to take our already fun and active dealership to a mini-amusement park at the entrance of Wisconsin.
What did you guys come to Runde’s today for?
For the purchase of a vehicle. The Saturn Vue, ’05.
How was your experience at Runde’s?
It was one of the few times I had to buy a car in my life so I don’t have much to compare it to. It was good, no problems.
Your sales-person was Al Kloft, what you think of Al?
He likes to talk! He’s a pretty good guy, we like him. He’s always eager to please.
So, what led you to Runde’s in the first place?
We were shopping on the internet and found the site.
What plans do you have for the vehicle?
Transportation – for her. To get to and from work.
Oh so it’s for you Traci?
Traci – Yea it’s mine.
Mike – Yea, I just pay for it.
Traci – You drive it and wash it and wax it!
Mike – I’m not going to drive it very often…
What do you guys like to do as a family?
Just travel usually.
So are you two married?
No, everything but. We’ve been together nine years. Marriage is just too much of a formality – just a piece of paper.
How many kids?
Just the one – Alexus, she’s eight-years-old in elementary school. She’s more excited about the vehicle than we are!
Oh really? Why’s that?
Just something different, I guess, she’s been in the Grand Prix for about six years. She also loves the sun roof and various gadgets as well as the fact that it’s a stick shift.
Any pets?
Nope.
What do you guys like to do in the area?
Just go out for dinner and the occasional movie, you know, the old stereotype.
Any specific place you like to eat?
We seem to eat at the Red Robin and Chilies a lot. They both have very good food.
Favorite movie?
Mike – Star Wars for me – the whole six pack.
Traci – Mine is Grease.
Go out to see movies at all?
Whenever we can. We just saw Monsters Vs. Aliens in 3D.
Huh, never knew they had 3D movies at our theatre, neat!
Yea, it’s fun.
Any kind of music you like?
Anything but country.
Favorite actor/actress?
Nope, none
If you could compare your family to a sitcom family, which one would it be?
Hah, I wish it was the Osbournes but I don’t have that much money. We’re more of a “you can do what you want and I’ll boss you around” type.
Mike – That… or the Bundy’s [from the show Married with Children].
Traci – Don’t say that. We’re not the Bundy’s!
Any last comments?
We had a good time here. I mean – it didn’t turn me off from coming back again, that’s for sure. No hassles and we appreciate that.
Thank you very much for your time, enjoy your vehicle!
